Hi! Welcome to Josephines, our small, family-owned business. My name is Ilah, and I am a lifelong Wheaton resident with experience in the small business coffee industry throughout the Chicago suburbs and Arizona since 2016.
I was born and raised in Wheaton, IL, and spent a year in Arizona working at a nonprofit coffee shop while studying athletic coaching. My experiences in coffee have given me firsthand insight into what it takes to build a successful small business, along with a deep appreciation for the growing demand for quality coffee at community events, private gatherings, and outdoor sporting venues.
I take great pride in every product and menu item we serve. Our goal is to fuel your day with clean, organic ingredients and eco-friendly supplies whenever possible. We believe in being transparent, honest, and intentional in everything we do, and we hope to one day have a storefront that feels like home, a welcoming place where our community can gather over great coffee.
Giving back has always been important to me. Since 2018, I've had the opportunity to be involved with nonprofit organizations, and it has been a priority to carry that spirit of service into Josephines. Supporting other local businesses is just as important to us. We are proud to partner with Tugboat Coffee Roasters in Addison, a local roaster we have known since 2019. Their dedication to quality and genuine care for their customers make them an incredible partner, and we're honored to serve their coffee.
I am also incredibly grateful for the amazing women who work alongside me. We have shared coffee shop experience in the past, and I trust each of them wholeheartedly. Their talent, intuition, and commitment to exceptional service help create the welcoming environment we've always dreamed of. More than coworkers, they are wonderful friends, and I am thankful every day for their support, honesty, and encouragement.
I feel incredibly fortunate to raise my family here in Wheaton while continuing to build meaningful relationships throughout our community. It means so much to me to bring my passion and experience back to my hometown and serve the communities that have given so much to me. I truly could not do it without you.

My name is Fabian and I get to support Ilah’s dream of owning a coffee shop. We have the opportunity start with an event cart to meet people in the community on an intimate level and truly work hard for completing this goal. After losing our baby girl, we are thankful that we are able to honor her name with our family business.
I grew up in Carol Stream, and attended Wheaton Academy that led me to North Central to play football. I currently work at a staffing agency where I assist people in our community get the jobs they need to support their families.
When it comes to Josephines, I am happy to be the cashier and slowly learn the skills these woman have worked so hard to obtain as second nature. It makes me happy to see them altogether again in a different light to serve you all at different events!

Josephine is our baby girl that we lost in November of 2024.
As we were preparing to launch our coffee business in fall 2025 under the name Hazels, we felt called to change it to something more personal and intentional as we begin this journey.
We recognize that many mothers in our community have experienced miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, and infant loss. In honor of that shared experience, we hope to create space for remembrance, support, and connection through what we’re building.
Within our first year of business, we plan to donate a portion of proceeds to the Baby Spirit Foundation, supporting pregnancy and infant loss, with an opportunity for the community to donate as well.
